Nerd R-Evolution. If we Google “Nerd”: “A young man, who is insignificant and not attractive, that repairs his lacking attractiveness with an obsessive passion and a great tendency for new technologies”. There are several theories about the etymology of the word “nerd”: we only know that it was coined in the UK around the 50s. It was used at first with derogatory meaning. But during the decades, being a nerd has become a style. It initially was that style for brains, a bit losers, that became cool thanks to Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs. Now, the nerd look has evolved: from the minimal T-shirt, jeans and sneakers of the past, today the nerd is also a businessman dressed with formal tailored classic.

The classiest ones are the Parisians (fashion was born in France after all), followed by the English. Parisians are naturally elegant, it’s perceivable from a distance… a part from the odd habit of wearing socks with little hearts or Mickey Mouse’s face printed on them. English men fall into these two categories: the classic-conservative and the trendy, The trendy ones are often confused about fashion and they end up overdoing it. Italians have a good reputation abroad, they say we are the most elegant. It’s not true, it’s only due to the fact we’ve got the greatest designers , the best tailors, the most beautiful fabrics, besides italian textile industies are top manufacturing companies.That’s all. What about Americans? They are not on the list. Then we have two precious rings- the first one it’s a remarkable ring (by Gucci), the second one it’s a wedding ring (by Chopard) classic regimental suspenders (by Brooks Brothers), tieclip (by Paul Smith) and of course the tie, regimental as well. The new traditional menswear it’s luxurious and strong, inspiring men to consider a style that is coming back: a determined contemporary man, with a  maniacal obsession with grooming, and a strong inclination for success. An ambitious kind of man, sometimes arrogant, which requires a polished look indeed. Such display of confidence can appear irritating but it doesn’t have to be condemned tout court: when it’s not exhibitionism  it’s just a form of  respect, for ourselves and  others.
