MUSIC MEETS FASHION – THE KING OF DEEP

Hause music has changed in many ways through its evolution so there is an element of confusion about its origins.  Talking  about deep house, how not to mention Kerri Chandler? Chandler was born in New Jersey in 1969, his dad was a dj and since Kerri  was very young he always had passion for music which  became stronger and stronger through the years. Later on while the deep house was booming, he used to go to the best New York clubs where the best djs of the 90s were playing (they are still remembered as legends). Progress, innovation and hazards are not his style,  he’s always been faithful to his deep sound samples and his whole speaker system, you can tell by those habits he had an enviable past. His dj sets are based on rhythm, instruments and scratchy (or not) black voices, that also applies to the music he produces in collaboration with the best music labels worldwide. We could keep on talking about those days for hours but instead I recommend to find one of his podcasts or videos on youtube and press “play”, that should be enough to take you back to the top clubs of the 90s on the East Coast where the atmosphere was truly unique. MUSIC MEETS FASHION – ELECTRO BROTHERS

They use to say “a name, a guarantee”, in this case we have a surname: Kalkbrenner. The Kalkbrenner brothers Paul and Fritz, born respectively in 1977 and 1981, are famous for their electronic yet melodic sound that it’s hard to imagine but also delightfully listeanable indeed. The style of this two guys from Berlin became highly recognizable for its elegance all around the world through the past couple of years, since the movie “Berlin Calling” came out with Paul playing the leading role of a dj named Ickarus. The movie it’s about a dj going through a troubled time after becoming pupular on an international scale. Paul has been also producing the unique cult movie soundrack which has been released the same year as the film. When people talk about techno or electonic music we think of heavy sounds, music barely listeanable during the day but the two dj/producers have proven to be extremely talented musicians, adding outstanding melodies to electronic sounds and creating a particular genre of music which make us think of premium clubbers across the world dancing until sunrise. Perhaps we could say this two are genetically predisposed to music as their style it’s similar and peculiar although they have two different artistic identities, as if their songs must have been first recorded on their DNA and only then at the studio. SCHEMA LIBERO PER SEMPRE DENIM

Denim has been surprising us for over 50 years and it’s not over yet. At this point we all know that the fabric was born in the 17th century as an excellent material for making working clothes. From 1900 denim has been used for everyday clothing. It’s been one of the tangible symbols of the youth revolution and over time became part of designers’ collections, especially during the 80s and 90s when entire collections have been dedicated to denim. But the most important thing to consider is that denim is ageless, it can be used by young people as much as by the over 50s. It has lost all its ideological values over time, now it can be worn by anyone and it has no gender identity. The “Blue Jeans” exhibition inaugurated last november at the Centraal Museum of Utrecht by head of art direction of dutch brand G- Star Pierre Morisset, will be open to the public until march 10. The exhibition shows the history and evolution of denim through all the experimental and creative aspects, from the beginning till today. Denim menswear has not lost its sheen, being suggested every season with different treatments, colors and shapes and also for accessories.
