HARPER’S BAZAAR UOMO 1997

In the decade of tech-fashion there was a huge use of fabric from sportswear, even the silk of parachutes, as in the case of the overalls in this picture. The neon light chosen by Davide Cernuschi made the garment’s colour cooler, and the background – a simple composition of solids and wings – gave an abstract feeling to the picture. Katharine Hammett overalls, Prada belt. Styling Alessandro Calascibetta.

Siamo nel pieno degli anni Novanta: dominano la scena i tessuti sintetici di derivazione sportiva e camicie e polo super attillate. I designer più sperimentali sbirciano i disegni/fantasia del prêt-à-porter e li trasportano sul menswear. Foto Rennio Maifredi, Styling Alessandro Calascibetta, Polo Carol Christian Poell e pantaloni Katharine Hamnett.

In full Nineties: synthetic fabric from sportswear and very tight-fitting shirts/polos hold the stage. The most experimental designers peek prêt-à-porter’s patterns/prints and carry them in menswear.
